Mehndi is the atelier's green, an anarkali and dupatta set in viscose georgette left semi stitched so your tailor finishes it to your measurements. Savitri hand embroidered the flare in Lucknow with bakhiya shadow work, phanda knots, keel kangan points and pechni wraps. Cut for weddings and mehndi mornings, the colour its name promises.

The stitches
- Bakhiya (shadow work)Herringbone worked on the reverse of sheer cloth, so the motif glows through as a soft shadow, the signature of true Chikankari.
- Phanda (knot)Tight millet-seed knots placed one by one to build jasmine buds and flower centres.
- Keel KanganKeel sets the pointed flower centre. Kangan rings it like a bangle around the motif.
- Pechni (twisted wrap)Tepchi wrapped over with thread into a raised, spiralled cord.
How to wear it
- Gold jhumkas and cream bangles warm the earthy green.
- Tan mojaris and a loose braid keep the mehndi morning ease.

Semi-stitched means the garment arrives partly constructed so your tailor can finish it to your exact measurements. The blouse and kurta panels are cut and embroidered. The final fitting seams are left open on purpose. Plan for a local tailoring visit before wearing.
