The stitches
- Bakhiya (shadow work)Close herringbone that fills the motif.
- Phanda (knot)Tight millet-seed knots placed one by one to build jasmine buds and flower centres.
- Pechni (twisted wrap)Tepchi wrapped over with thread into a raised, spiralled cord.
- Ghas Patti (grass leaf)Blades of grass worked in mirrored V-strokes, leaf-work that fans across hems and vines.
How to wear it
- The kurta stops above the knee, so the pant shows below it and flat kolhapuris leave the blue hem band clear at every step.
- The waist lies flat across the front and gathers on elastic at the side, which keeps the line under the kurta smooth through a working day.
- One blue runs through kurta and pant, which leaves oxidised jhumkas and kadas to carry a festive afternoon.

Each piece is embroidered and finished by hand, so a measurement may vary by up to 1 inch. That variation is the signature of handwork, not a defect. The first table measures the kurta and the second the pants, which sit on an elastic waist.
