On orders above ₹5,000
Phagun is the Holi month, gulaal thrown over mustard in flower, and the set keeps that order, fuchsia pink cotton above a 36 inch mustard palazzo that flowers at the hem. The maker hand embroidered five stitches in Lucknow, bakhiya, phanda, pechni, keel kangan and ghas patti, mustard on pink at the kurti's neck and cuffs, then tone on tone on the palazzo's band, where flowers stand out by height.

The stitches
- Bakhiya (shadow work)Close herringbone that fills the motif.
- Phanda (knot)Tight millet-seed knots placed one by one to build jasmine buds and flower centres.
- Pechni (twisted wrap)Tepchi wrapped over with thread into a raised, spiralled cord.
- Keel KanganKeel sets the pointed flower centre. Kangan rings it like a bangle around the motif.
- Ghas Patti (grass leaf)Blades of grass worked in mirrored V-strokes, leaf-work that fans across hems and vines.
How to wear it
- The set is two pieces in two colours, so silver jhumkas and flat sandals are enough for a Holi milan or a mehndi afternoon.
- From the hip, where the kurti stops, the palazzo's flare runs clear to the ankle, and the worked band swings at each step.
- The palazzo pulls on at an elastic waist and ties at the front with a drawstring, and the kurti falls over the knot.

Each piece is embroidered and finished by hand, so a measurement may vary by up to 1 inch. That variation is the signature of handwork, not a defect. The first table measures the kurta and the second the palazzo, which sits on an elastic waist.
