Nimbu Pastel Yellow Mulmul Crop Top
Every mark is a leaf or a knot, white thread on yellow mulmul. Gudiya hand embroidered the front in Lucknow, phanda tying each knot and ghas patti raising a fan of blades for every leaf. Where mulmul is left bare it follows the body instead of holding a shape, and on this crop top that is mostly the three quarter sleeves, 70–75 GSM, the fibre 100% cotton.

The stitches
- Ghas Patti (grass leaf)Blades of grass worked in mirrored V-strokes, leaf-work that fans across hems and vines.
- Phanda (knot)Tight millet-seed knots placed one by one to build jasmine buds and flower centres.
How to wear it
- The sleeves are the plain part of this top, so pushing them to the elbow changes the line without touching the pattern.
- The front carries the work, so a jacket closed over the top covers it and one left open keeps a band of it showing.
- White work reaches the edge of the neckline, so a chain or a pendant lands on embroidery rather than on plain cloth.
