On orders above ₹5,000
Lavender sits so close to white that across a room the thread is a scatter of pale marks, and at arm's length the larger ones open into rings of phanda knots. In Lucknow, Madhu hand embroidered ghas patti into the leaves of each cuff band and bakhiya, the shadow work, from the reverse of the mulmul. Jacaranda flowers lavender, the cloth sheer at 70–75 GSM, 100% cotton.

The stitches
- Phanda (knot)Tight millet-seed knots placed one by one to build jasmine buds and flower centres.
- Bakhiya (shadow work)Herringbone worked on the reverse of sheer cloth, so the motif glows through as a soft shadow, the signature of true Chikankari.
- Ghas Patti (grass leaf)Blades of grass worked in mirrored V-strokes, leaf-work that fans across hems and vines.
How to wear it
- The hem is cut in a curve rather than straight across, so it sits highest at the sides. Judge a bottom by where its waistband lands there, not at the front.
- No camisole comes with this sheer mulmul. Choose your own by its back edge, which shows through the plain cloth as a straight line.
- Hair worn open down the back hides none of the work: the back is plain mulmul, the butis stopping at the side seams.
