Ghas patti lays a leaf as two mirrored strokes, beige here on sage green mulmul, 70–75 GSM, so close in tone that the leaf is found at arm's length. The maker hand embroidered the vines with it in Lucknow, bakhiya beneath the flowers surfacing as shadow, phanda knotted at each centre. Named for holy basil, Tulsi is calf length in 36 kali panels, its placket buttoned to the hem.

The stitches
- Bakhiya (shadow work)Herringbone worked on the reverse of sheer cloth, so the motif glows through as a soft shadow, the signature of true Chikankari.
- Phanda (knot)Tight millet-seed knots placed one by one to build jasmine buds and flower centres.
- Ghas Patti (grass leaf)Blades of grass worked in mirrored V-strokes, leaf-work that fans across hems and vines.
How to wear it
- Open, the placket shows a vest and straight pants from neck to hem and the kurta is a layer, and buttoned it is the kurta itself.
- A beige pant under it repeats the thread and a white one adds a third colour, so the choice below the hem decides whether the outfit is two tones or three.
- Beige on sage green is a shade apart, so across a room the kurta reads as plain green and the vines appear at talking distance.

Each piece is embroidered and finished by hand, so a measurement may vary by up to 1 inch. That variation is the signature of handwork, not a defect. The hip figure is taken across the 36 kali flare, laid flat and doubled, which is why it runs far wider than a straight kurta.
