Raat is the night kurta, black sheer mulmul cut in flared kali panels. Sufiya hand embroidered four stitches across it in Lucknow, bakhiya shadow work laid from the reverse, chana patti and ghas patti leaves, and phanda knots between them. Knee length with a round buttoned neck, it is the line's darkest and most worked kurta.

The stitches
- Bakhiya (shadow work)Herringbone worked on the reverse of sheer cloth, so the motif glows through as a soft shadow, the signature of true Chikankari.
- Chana Patti (gram leaf)Gram-leaf trios scattered along creepers, small leaves in threes.
- Phanda (knot)Tight millet-seed knots placed one by one to build jasmine buds and flower centres.
- Ghas Patti (grass leaf)Blades of grass worked in mirrored V-strokes, leaf-work that fans across hems and vines.

Each piece is embroidered and finished by hand, so a measurement may vary by up to 1 inch. That variation is the signature of handwork, not a defect. The hip figure is taken across the 36 kali flare, laid flat and doubled, which is why it runs far wider than a straight kurta.
