Gulaab Pink Mulmul Shirt
SWT380
On orders above ₹2,000
On orders above ₹5,000
The white thread on the pink ground is Phoolmati's, tepchi and keel kangan hand embroidered in Lucknow, and the contrast hides no stitch: the tepchi runs the printed line dash by dash. Mulmul at 70–75 GSM, 60 denier in warp and weft, gathers into the cuff of a puffed sleeve without building bulk at the forearm. Gulaab, the rose, keeps its pink plain at the placket and back.

Phoolmati is a large-motif specialist in the Shwet Heritage self-help-group network in Lucknow, with more than 12 years at the embroidery frame. Large motifs demand sustained tension control across broad fields of cloth — hours of even-handed work per panel — and her profile appears here exactly as she is credited in our workshop records.

The stitches
- Tepchi (running)The swift running stitch laid along the printed motif, the ground on which every other stitch is built.
- Keel KanganKeel sets the pointed flower centre. Kangan rings it like a bangle around the motif.
How to wear it
- The mandarin band stands rather than folds over, leaving earrings clear space above it and a necklace none.
- The sleeve's fullness sits low, gathered into the cuff, and a bag hung over the forearm presses it flat, so carry one on the shoulder.
- A white or off white bottom keeps the whole outfit to the shirt's two colours, pink ground and white thread.
