Neel Sea Blue Cambric Pintuck Kurta
White thread carries the drawing on Neel, sea blue named for indigo, and the pintuck rows rise under the fingers. In Lucknow, Chandrakanti hand embroidered it, tepchi laid first for the line, phanda tying the buds, and mukaish badla sits beside that Chikankari. Cambric puts 88 picks in the inch where the house mulmul puts 20, on the same 92 ends, dense enough to stand a mandarin collar up.

How to wear it
- Sea blue behaves like a neutral through an office week, so grey, sand and off white all sit under it without a fight.
- A mandarin collar takes the cloth up to the throat, so a necklace has nowhere to fall and earrings are what the neckline leaves room for.
- Cambric is cotton and washes at home, so a spill at lunch means a hand wash that evening rather than a trip to the dry cleaner.
