Kiran Zard Yellow Chanderi Stole
Kiran Zard carries the yellow of winter mustard fields into a Chanderi stole. Sulekha hand embroidered the 1.90 metre length in Lucknow, laying bakhiya shadow work under phanda knots so the motifs hold their shape against the sheen. Semi sheer and festive by nature, it glows over green, pink or a plain dark dress.

The stitches
- Bakhiya (shadow work)Herringbone worked on the reverse of sheer cloth, so the motif glows through as a soft shadow, the signature of true Chikankari.
- Phanda (knot)Tight millet-seed knots placed one by one to build jasmine buds and flower centres.
