Patta Light Green Kota Saree
Lyocell is 7% of this Kota doria, silk another 15.6% and cotton the remaining 77.4%. Sulekha hand embroidered this cloth in Lucknow, tepchi drawn as a running line and phanda knotted onto it, white thread on light green. Patta is the leaf, and that green is where a leaf starts before it darkens, 5.5 metres in one piece, no blouse cloth to cut.

The stitches
- Phanda (knot)Tight millet-seed knots placed one by one to build jasmine buds and flower centres.
- Tepchi (running)The swift running stitch laid along the printed motif, the ground on which every other stitch is built.
How to wear it
- Nothing is included for the blouse. The drape reaches a tailor before it reaches a shoulder, and 5.5 metres of cloth is all that ships.
- Silk and lyocell are in this cloth as well as cotton, so it wants cold water and gentler handling than an all cotton drape does.
